Last week I posted a picture of a bowl I turned out of a piece of mesquite root burl. Here is another bowl from the same root and there is still more wood left.
The bowl is 10" in dia. and 5.5" at the highest point. A long hole was filled with espresso grounds, brass swarf and CA glue in layers. I felt because the hole went through the bottom it would weaken the bowl so it might break or fly off the lathe.
The finish is orange oil and bees wax.

Gorgeous bowl as always. You did a great job of filling that hole.
That must have been a monster root!

Your mesquite bowl is AWESOME! I LOVE turning mesquite and have been extremely pleased with the results as I'm sure you have! The color, grain and design are perfect!!! Thanks for sharing and safe turning to you always!
