mesquite burl bowl picture heavy

A friend gave me a mesquite root burl. Here are some pictures showing the process. Lost part of one side the sap wood was punky and would not stay together. The finish is spray poly. Thanks for looking as always C &C are welcome. William

Awesome bowl. There looks to be about a million opportunities for tool catches on that bowl but you knocked it out of the park.

Here you go, one thing I noticed is that is places it seems the wood soaked up the finish so need to sand and apply some more.

Beautiful bowl! Be sure to save what you can of the shavings... they'll be helpful come grilling season.
