For Sale or Trade for pen kits: I have alot of Mesquite blanks, cut to 1" X 1" X 6". I am looking to sell them or trade for most any pen kits you may have. I think $2 each would be a fair price. If you buy them, you'll have to pay the shipping. If we trade, then I'll ship them. I also have a very limited number of American Elm blanks. Same deal.

Do you make cigar pens? I have some roller-ball & fountain pen kits i would trade some of those for some figured mesquite blanks. Post a picture of what you are offering and how many you would trade for some pens kits.

Mesquite Pictures

Here are some pics of the Mesquite I have to offer. It ranges from red-brown to almost chocolate in color, with most of it in the red-brown. It is extremely hard, but turns well. The pen in the pictures was finished with just EEE and wax to give you an idea of the color change.
Also, I included a picture of some slabs of American Elm, finished with wax and Tung Oil. The same picture has a shot of a piece of Wild Plum. I have some of these blanks for trade, but they are limited to 1" X 1" X 6" only.
Anyone intereseted in some Tickle-Tongue wood? (yes that is the common name here in Texas, I'll look for the scientific name). It has a yellow-brown color and is even harder than Mesquite.

Zanthoxylum clava-herculis

not interested in buying it, but would like to see a pic of what the wood looks like. A friend pointed out a very small tickle-tongue tree to me last week. I'd never seen it. This one was very small - less than 3' tall, so it didn't have the warts yet.

Mark,

I enjoy turning mesquite although it is tough on the tools.

If they are still available, I would like to purchase 12 blanks. They would be shipping to California.

Please PM me with payment info and I'll get the money to you.

Thank you.

Matthew
