Medical Purple

This is a Berea Medical Care click pen in gold. The blank is an acrylic acetate, also from Berea, #AA26P. I polished it with 220-600 wet; 3M Zona, all six grades wet; then Meguier's 105, 205, and 10. My daughter-in-law, who is an RN nursing student (she's already an LVN), asked me to make pens for her three instructors, one female and two male. This is for the female. The two males will get Medical Care pens in gunmetal, with wood. Made a striking pen. The center bands all say "SAVE LIVES", and have an EKG trace on them.

Purple was a no brainer, it's her favorite color. The blank surprised me, though. I've turned a lot of acrylic acetate over the years, but this is one of the more spectacular ones.

My acetate of choice is Kirinite. Blanks almost always are vibrant. That is one beautiful pen and I agree that the color is superb.

I've turned a lot of Kirinite. It turns easily and polishes nicely.
