I, in no way mean this to be political and if it goes that direction please shut it down.
We all know where the economy went in 2008. We all know where the housing market went, and we all know the names of the banks that were right there in the middle of it. We all know someone who has lost their job and in my case had to let good people go because of the economy.
We own a boat storage business and up until a year ago a boat repair business. This is a leisure market business because very few people NEED to fix or store, or even own a boat so we got our asses kicked but we have survived so far.
Several of our customers Who were general contractors and WAY behind on their bills have finally started making payments. One even contacted me without me threatening to sell their boats, made arrangements to get caught up, and made a payment that was approved by the bank. Another called to say that he has had no work in the last three quarters but just got two very large jobs, and is in the final running for three more. Then he made a payment and arrangements to catch up. Another customer who has had a rough winter paid rent early.
I am not saying things are great, in fact I would say I am worse off with food price increases and two growing food vacuums....I mean boys at home. But, maybe there is hope if people are starting to build again.
Trying to think positive.
