I am looking for a matt finish for my pens. I do not like the high gloss finish on wood. If you know of a hard finish that is matt please let me know.

Use Deft brand laquer or any other laquer for that matter in satin or semi gloss. On certain woods I use semi gloss with great results.

Ok, just to be helpful, I did a search for you, and the most prominent Matt that comes up is the member "Matt Bridges". So I say send your pens to him and have him finish them for you! [:D][:D]

I would recommend a different approach which I use successfully. I believe I learned this from Russ Fairfield, but it may have been Michael Dresdner. If you are going to use lacquer, wait until it has fully cured, then buff with 0000 (four-ought) steel wool to knock down the finish. The same will work for a CA finish.

Now I don't care who you are, that's funny! [:D]
