Here is a travel mug I made for Christmas, wood is little spalted masur birch. I'm sorry for the pictures, they could be waaay better.

That is sweet!

I've stayed away from the mugs 'cuz it seems like you needed a big block for using only a little wood, but with results like that...

Excellent looking mug, stunning wood and execution.
I have had one for a month or so , now and it leaks and it split down the side. It happened after putting hot coffee in after it sat in the cold car overnight, so be careful. The expanding and the spilit may be causing the leak, so, I will redo it and see what happens.

Masur birch grows here in Finland, so it is not so difficult for me to find it. It's not very common wood here either but I guess it is much easier to find here than in US.
