The team we formed to get the made in the USA kits started was a very effective one and we both learned a lot from each other. We are continuing to work together to collaborate and share ideas to be able to produce the best quality and most innovative products possible. :goodid you know...the Marksman Eagle kit components are made from stainless steel which means that the finish will not wear off. No worries about pitted, too thin or inconsistent plating. The parts are polished to a brilliant finish. If a part gets scratched during the assembly process or after the pen has been completed, it can be buffed out and the finish can be restored.

:good:Did you know...Marksman Eagle bushings are made from tool steel that has been heat treated to achieve a scratch and wear resistant surface which lengthens the life of the bushings and maintains the outer diameter to ensure blanks are turned to the proper size to match the mating parts.

:good:Did you know...because the Marksman Eagle components sets are made from stainless steel with no plating, the finish can be modified to a brushed finish. This can be done by placing the parts in the lathe chuck and sanding them using 400 grit sandpaper or Scotchbrite. See the photo below.

:good:Did you know...that the jewel in Marksman component sets are shipped loose so that you can easily replace it with your own custom jewel. If you choose to use the jewel that you ordered, it is easily pressed into place with a mild friction fit (and a drop of epoxy is recommended). In addition to being shipped loose, there is a choice of two jewels to choose from.

:good:Did you know...that stainless steel is manufactured from 65% to 80% recycled content making the Marksman Eagle a "green" component set. If you are a conservationist or just interested in conserving our environment, know that Marksman is doing as much as possible to minimize the impact our products have on our surroundings.

:good:Did you know...that the Marksman Eagle component set, weighing in at 46.2 grams (including refill and PR blank), is 5% to 10% lighter than comparable sized kits such as the Gentlemen Jr. and the Statesmen Jr. and the lower section is slightly longer than the same kits creating a well balanced comfortable writing instrument.

:good:Did you know...that all components in the Marksman Eagle component sets, with the exception of the refill, nib and converter, are made in the USA. Marksman takes great pride in using USA based suppliers and manufacturers. The refills, nibs and converters are obtained from Schmidt who is well known for superior quality and craftsmanship.
