Marchesa Roman Olive

The pen is called a Marchesa, in chrome, and is a first for me. It's from Crokked Mill. I like the textured metal cap with the crystals. The Roman olivewood is from Woodcraft. It looks good with the Roman olivewood. The finish is Pens Plus. Just for fun, I Googled "Marchesa", and it's a line of high end women's wear. Don't know what that has to do with pens.

I've never turned Roman olivewood before, and didn't even know it existed. But it was on sale for 40% off, so I thought I'd give it a try. The grain looks to be more subtle than Bethlehem olivewood, but still pretty. It doesn't seem to have any odor, like the Bethlehem variety does.

Just for fun, I Googled "Marchesa", and it's a line of high end women's wear. Don't know what that has to do with pens.

Nice pen, though. Nice looking wood, too, if not as dramatic as the Bethlehem version.

(am I the only one who'd be perfectly satisfied with uncertified inauthentic Bethlehem olive wood if it looked the same?)
