Marble wood Carbara/Atlas/Polaris

This is the third pen I've done from Marble Wood, some one said it smelled like old gym socks, having turned the first two on a metal lathe, I really didn't notice the smell This one I turned on a wood lathe and I guess a respirator would have been a good thing, a dust mask didn't hide the raunchy stink, Nice looking wood but Yuck[xx(][xx(][xx(]

You know what, I was given some wood by DocStram that I swore smelled like chicken ***t. When I saw your blank I thought it looked familiar, then when you mentioned the smell it clicked. Well, now I know I'm not crazy! Mine smelled so bad when I drilled the holes I thought it must have been contaminated somehow and I didn't know what kind of wood it was to look up any past experiences with it.

Glad to know I'm not alone or going nuts!

Marble wood is beautiflu (and so is your pen). It's too bad that it smells like an overripe port-a-potty.
