Looks realy nice.

I do have a question I've wondered about.

I haven't done a peppermill yet but plan to in the future. I've thought of using spalted woods but was concerned about the spalting causing sickness by contaminating the peppercorns.

Is there any worries there?

maple burl can be very striking..nice grinder..and to answer the above question..yes spalted wood can cause sickness in people..usually respiratory..also any wood people are allergic to can be problematic for some

You can line the inside or finish the inside, but to be safe, i'd stick with common north american non-nut woods.

Thanks for the feedback. It is good to hear that others like this - I tend to "adopt" all my turnings and have a blind eye to those that only a father could love. LOL.
