maple/blueberry swirl?

Not sure if I like this or not. I was experimenting with free-form lamination the other night. This is curly maple with two royal-indigo diamondwood laminations. The laminations were purposely made in an irregular "wave" and off-center.
Woodcraft Gold Euro kit.
Finished with a couple of coats of Deft spray-on lacquer.

Pretty good first attempt. Looks like you get a pile up just under the clip though or is that the lighting? I like the pattern in the second photo.

I can't decide. I think the top barrell may be a little too busy but the second photo lower barrel is cooool.
