The bash may be over, but the parties continue. First a shout out to our inspiration MPG. This year they got off to a slow start, but I'm sure it will be as great as ever. We are not trying to compete with them, just offer a similar venue a little closer to some others. If you're close enough, please support them by going.

Yesterday the team had our Penultimate planning meeting. We are all getting excited and appreciate all those who took time to preregister. The demonstrations are in place with backups for emergencies, our vendors are stocking up with goodies; the generous vendors on the site who can't be there are supplying some pretty nice contest and door prizes. Goodie bags are being filled so every one goes home with something.

Contest rules will be out soon so sharpen your skews! Or just bring some pens for our instant gallery. We like to ooh and ahh.

Patty Sole will be at the Exotics table with her paintbrush for anyone who wants a custom painted tube. Bring pictures of pets, families, or whatever and she will paint on the spot. If you want a particular pen style, bring tubes or get them right at Woodcraft. You can bring your tube home to cast, or have them cast by others. She will also take special orders.

We're also trying to have a Pizza Party Saturday evening. Location TBD. Will have announcement at the gathering or before.

Be on the lookout for more!!

And please preregister at our website (see below) if you get a chance. It helps us get a handle on how many are coming. The fire marshal says we can fit 341 in the building:)

Lastly meet the team: Some are more active than others here but they are all a pleasure to work with.

Im touring with the idea of coming over to a meet in either 2014/2015 to do a demo on etching and anodising and im curious as to what shows get put on over there each year. Is there one in particular which has a good turn out or one you would recommend?

We would love to have you at the MAPG. This is our first year, but we are expecting a good crowd for pen turners. MPG has a little more history as does the Penturner Roundezvous in Utah that is also in May. The later is part of a bigger woodturning show. And who knows what may happen for the 10 year bash. Jeff may decide to throw a big party:)
Stay tuned, but be careful shipping those nasty chemicals:biggrin:

luckily il only be shipping 200ml of acid, and as for the ferric il most probably order that from the US and have it delivered to someone who is organising the event rather than having the issue of putting it on a plane lol. things like cathodes wire and a linear power supply (hand luggage lol) wont be an issue

I know my wife will want to go to Florida when she catches wind of my intentions so no doubt a meet on this side of the US would be best
