Manu Propria Pens - Kumo-Raden

Another pair of pens finished today.
Ebonite body and urushi lacquer called "kumo-raden-nuri". Kumo = Clouds, Raden = Mother of Pearl. The body is not enrirely covered with raden particles as in classic raden lacquer. I have drawn pattern that were sprinkled.

I used to get the characters for spider and clouds mixed up. Made for great laughs. And for my first 3 - 4 years I would forget which was kumo (spider) and kuma (bear). I once told a friend there was a bear on the wall in his house! :biggrin:

The Raden particles are beautifully arranged. I love the visual effect.

Just an opinion; I prefer the first pen with the gold accent. This is a minor thought, as both are excellent.
