Since 2012 I am buying the Ebonite rods for my pens from NIKKO Ebonite in Tokyo Japan.
Nikko is a manufacturer of Ebonite, established some 100 years ago.
I have visited them many times and the factory stilllook as it did 100 years ago
It seems as though time has stood still in this factory since it was founded. Very beautiful indeed.
The only new things I had noticed were the file folders in the office.
It is the best Ebonite for being lacquered with Urushi.
Since some years they also offer colored Ebonite.
Recently, since the introduction of my BeCu (Beryllium Copper) nibs I decided also to manufactureEbonize Pens without Urushi.
Many pen collectors, that are focussed on nibs are less interested in Urushi.
This is the first model of the NIKKO Collection available in three colors of Mottled Ebonite, Red, Blue and Green.
The material can be very beautifully polished.
Have a great weekend.
Best regards,
Martin
