Hi folks, I have a 7mm mandrel that screws into the Shopsmith adapter. It seems to unscrew as I use it with my mandrel saver live center. Any one have a similar problem?

Charles; I did use my Shopsmith to turn pens but I had a mandrel from PSI that attached directly to the SS "post". Even had the 5/32" set screw. If this is the same, you may want to put some Blue Loctite on the threads of the mandrel. I do this with all my mandrels. A photo might help.

Happened all the time till I used Loctite.

glad I'm not alone. I applied some CA thick to the threads, I'll see what happens. Mine does not have a set screw, but that's a good idea.
