Just finished some Ebonite pens with Urushi lacquer.
This variation is called Aogai Migin. Aogai = Abalone, Migin = Powder.
I have sprinkled very fine Abalone Powder into transparent black lacquer "Roiro Urushi" and applied sevral more coats before grinding and polishing.
It is almost impossible to capture the sparkling effect on a picture.

Best regards,

Martin

Martin, I really like every pen that you post. These latest ones and the finish on them are exceptional.
I can only imagine what they look like in the hand!

Thank you for your encouraging comments. Ah, yes the roll-stop. I forgot to explaain. Thee shell is built up with lacquer and brass powder, then engraved and polished.

Cheers,

Martin
