My computer has been infected by a virus/malware called Savings Bull. Does anyone have a suggestion on how to remove this? I've tried a couple of things and nothing is working.

I would go to your anti-virus makers site and looking for a removal tool. So if you use Norton I would go to their site or google the virus you have and the name of your anti-virus software and see what comes up. I don't use any Windows here at home now I us MAC and Linux so for the most part I am not too concerned with virus/malware. This is the tack I would take.

I saw many links to removal sites but you have to be careful using just any site as some can contain viruses themselves. Do you know this site? This is why I was leaning toward a reputable site? BTW my degree is in computer science and I have fought many of these infections. I always start at the site of the installed AV or another reputable AV provider. Are you familiar with the site link that you posted hewunch? if you are it is probably just fine..

A google search for removal info resulted in several sites listed as dangerous. I was looking for something with a proven method.

That is a very smart strategy. What AV do you use? That and any other reputable AV site would be my preference. But if hewunch knows that the site he posted is reputable that is different. You can see the URL if you right click on his link and view the source. I am just not familiar with that url..

I learnt this from Sharon. Reboot in safe mode and set the start time back to before you got the virus. Then update all your AV programs.

I have had great luck using this. It cleared up a problem that my anti virus would not even show that existed.

I agree with others. This is free for 30 days I believe:

Another good one is combofix.org save it to your desktop but rename it when you download it and then boot into safe mode. Let it run takes about 15 minutes and works very nicely. You may need to redo your homepage es because it reverts back to what ever your first page was.
