Dale, what you do with the Thread Wrapping just blows me away... Yes, quite a bit different than typical pen turning, and it is all done before precise spacing and turning. Maybe you folks in Nebraska have lots of free time in the winter to hunker down and show us 'warmer' region folks what true artistry is... If so, you have been successful. Wonderful video. Be well! 👏 👏 👏

I know all the pics are a bit much but I wasn't happy with how the last time I tried to photo the process. When it's winter, wood chips stop flyin in the garage. Gotta keep busy indoors somehow.

The pictures are spot on, Dale, and I was fascinated with the whole process which results in an outstanding pen.
What sort of time does that process take?

It's a thing of beauty and I'm full of administration. It's not Pen Turning but it's clever and a great effect.

Probably 10 hrs or so, couple hrs at a time. Most of the time spent moving and packing the thread together.

It was 1oo% done on a lathe with a skew. From brass tube to finished pen. How much turning does a turner need to turn to woodturn pens?

Dale I clearly do not understand the process so please forgive my ignorance. I think the finished result is fantastic.
