Inside out ornaments made from Cherry and padauk. I am including a brief description of how I do the ornaments. There are probably better tutorials and videos available that do a better job of doing these types of ornaments.

Thanks for the clear instructions, Cody ... I like the top pic in your 4th post, where you can see through the spinning workpiece to view the wood chips on the tray of your lathe!

That was on my to-do list this afternoon but got distracted by daughters plea for some scroll saw work. I would rather turn than scroll, but my daughter won out!

Now I wish I had made the inside out ornaments.

Beautiful work! I'm a bit jealous here!

Very nice! Beautiful and I like the candles on the inside.

I was wondering how those are made. Cant wait to share with Rebecca this evening. She is almost finished with the orders she had and will be ready to get back to ornaments.

It seems like it would be tricky to turn with the hole in the middle. One of these days, I am going to get Rebecca to teach me how to do a few things.

One small hint if I may. It is easier to put the finish on the inside pieces before gluing them together. Pretty difficult to put a good finish working through the holes. Excellent tutorial!

Beautiful ornaments and a nice tutorial. I saw a video where the guy used hose clamps to keep the blanks together and was cautious to keep his hands away from them. I like your method better, it's a lot safer without risking a painful loss of flesh.

Cool, I'm thinking of doing one of these. How about putting this in our library?

Thank you awesome work

I have put the photos in a word document and added some additional narrative. If anyone is interested pm me your email address and I will send you a copy.
