Making a ring from a bottle stopper?

I have a request from a customer to create a finger ring made from a bottle stopper. She wants to use a standard acrylic stopper top with a ceramic flower inside but have it attached to a ring that can be worn on her finger.

I've looked around at our local craft stores but none of them have any ring-making supplies. Does anyone have any idea where I might find a ring-base that I could attach to a turned bottle stopper?

NOTE: This gal is looking for something gaudy (her words). She is president of a local women's group and wants to flaunt her queen-bee status.
