Blue box elder burl and diagonally cut zebra wood.

DAMHIK - but the cap has different sizes. The clip end is smaller. I learned this in my first majestic jr when I thought it was just like a jr gent.

Very nice. I always love those diagonally cut pieces (like you're pen on the front page!).

Speaking on the different sized ends of the cap tube, one thing that has always kind of annoyed me with the jr. style kits is that the ring on the clips is usually not the same size as the finial hardware. Sometimes that seems to work, but usually I don't care for the look of it. I've gotten used to it, though. If they were a little narrower, the barrel could be notched to hide it completely.

I've noticed that zebrawood looks fine as a pen body when the blank is quartersawn, and looks spectacular, with amazing chatoyance, as soon as you turn a diagonal or cross-cut blank. They're way harder to turn (sharpen your skew and cut carefully so as not to blow it up), but worth the added effort. I doubt I'll turn much quartersawn zebrawood going forward.

Great looking pens!
