Maine Herbie Elm on a Gatsby

I was commissioned to make 3 pens from Herbie the Elm that grew in Yarmouth, Maine. It was challenging as the wood was extremely hard and quarter sawn. I think they turned out quite well. I'm hoping the client will think so too.

I recall when I grew up in central Ohio of seeing elm trees along streets that formed a tunnel.
