Mahogany and Beech Birdhouse ornament

This is a Mahogany and Beech Birdhouse Ornament . I was looking at the Birdhouse ornaments in the CSUSA catalog and thought I would like to try a few of these for Christmas gifts so I got some scrap wood and went to work . The perch and top loop are 1/16" brass rod and the stand is some .81" brass rod .

awesome work. One thing I found (my own opinion here...) is that if you off set the perch like 1/4" instead of placing it directly below the 'entry' hole the bird don't cover the hole so much. Again just my personal perference. I bought a few of the kits from CSUSA simply because I couldn't find any small cardinals. SWMBO wanted cardinals.

Very nicely done. We may have the state of NJ covered if you put these on the market. ( HA HA )Those have been huge sellers for me the past 3 years. Even this year with the economy I have sold 8 of them. Michaels has the small carninal birds and I think AC Moore still has them. I have no problem having the hole in the center. I think it is a matter of how large you make the house.
