A quick question about these pens....
Will the TSA allow them through their checkpoint?
A few months ago I flew from Dallas to my parents in Denver and I wanted to test this theory. I started making my own 30 cal pens with real bullets and casings. I took 20 30.06 brass and 20 silver and 40 bullets. Everything was not drilled and plastic baggies. I also took 40 other kits and a bunch of blanks. They wanted me to show a few friends how to make different pens.
I landed and picked up my bags and they had tape and seals all over them.
Letting me know that they were inspected and really searched my bags.
Guess that is why we were late taking off.
Well on the way back. I had 2 in my shirt pocket and when I was going through the check point was pulled off to the side and asked about why I was carrying them. This is the point where short to the point answers pay off, but being the smart a$$ I am and had a few drinks with my family feeling no pain. :foot-in-mouth:
I proceeded to tell them I just wanted to see what would happen and if anything would be said. That was not the right thing to say. I was escorted to the back and questioned, they proceeded to searched every inch of clothing, and I almost missed my flight. The air marshal escorted me onto the plane and to my seat and sat next to me until we reached dallas.
So yes you can take them just be careful on what you say to them and how you say it.
