Who'd of thunk it?? A machine gun shoot in Ky. Well i've gotta tell ya, it was freaking awesome. Aparently this is one of the country's largest machine gun shoots. It's only 15 minutes from my house at Knob Creek Gun Range in West Point, Ky. I've tried to make it before but somehow never went. Well after I got home from the Indy chapter meeting I went with my neighbor and a buddy. Both of whom served 3 years in Iraq. It seems the only type of outfit people had on were Camo or really short shorts:biggrin:. It was about 75 degrees and pretty humid as it rained early that day.
There were a ton of vendors there and they had 30 minute shoots every hour and a half. I counted somewhere around 17-20 machine guns on the line. A couple of Dillon Saws which are incredible. A gatlin gun, some cannons, a few 60's, some 50's, and lots of other's that I have no idea what they were. I got to see 1 shoot during the day which was cool. But about the time the sun started going down is when the fun began. They put fifteen 55 gallon drums with a mixture of gas and diesel fuel out about 300 yards away. They also had them hooked to a detonator. The night shoot kicked off with the biggest explosion i've ever seen. They set all the drums off at once. It scared the living hell out of me, and the heat from them was intense. Somehow I forgot my camera to take pics. I don't know if any has heard of this, but it was absolutely awesome. Sorry for the ramblin
