Yesterday I had to do one of the worst things that I have ever had to do if my life. I had to have my buddy, a fawn colored ex-Greyhound racer, named Pacer put down. He had become diabetic over the last two years of his life. He fought bravely though he was in pain a lot of the time. He'd been my buddy and a member of our family for nearly 13 years. Next to me the biggest Couch Potato you'd ever see. He wanted to go every where that I went. He felt lost my wife said when I left without him.

Rest in Peace my big buddy! I will miss you.

I feel your pain. I had to put my Jack Russell"Terror" down
almost 2 years ago and I still miss him badly. My Wife wants us to get
another dog but I still miss my Buster. Just can't do it.

Sorry to hear that. It will be a while before setting on the couch will feel right. I had a cat for years that would set in my lap every time I was in a certain chair. I still find myself expecting her to climb in my lap and that has been years ago. now I have a really small dog that has taken her place.

It's a sad day when one has to put the family pet(s) down. I've had two dogs die in as many years. One had to be put down and the other died in the house in front of my eyes. Both are emotional experiences I would soon rather forget, but never will.

Sorry to hear of your loss. We had a diabetic pup as well and I know what you have gone through these last two years - Know that your buddy is running - pain free through the meadows by the Rainbow Bridge waiting for you and one day you will be reunited. I know it is little comfort now, but may your keep your buddy near to your heart with the memories that warm your thoughts.

Sorry had my German short haired pointer put down two summers ago she was 15 and just a best friend all around.I have been to busy to get a new pup and it stinks.Again for sorry for your lose.Victor

Just know that you are not alone in this pain. The pain comes from true love. If you had note given and received the love between the two of you, then you would not hurt like this. With love comes pain but with out the love, life is not worth being. Do not try to replace your loving companion for to replace him means to forget him and all he has meant to you. Instead, fine in your heart enough love and companionship in your life for another great friend. There is room there for both. Been there, done that and have a closet full of the darn shirts.

So sorry for your loss. Every time I hear about someone having to put their dog down, I hug my ten year old golden retriever hard and long and pray it doesn't happen to me, but I know it will in three or five year's time.

My hope is that I will get all my dogs back when I get to heaven. Heaven just wouldn't be paradise without dogs, would it?

So very sorry for your loss. We had to put our 12+ year-old Great Pyrenees down in October, and I know exactly what you are going thru. We have a 10 year-old Rottweiler that adored our Pyr, and she still seems depressed. Time will ease the pain, but never erase the fond memories.

Sorry for your loss. It isn't easy to lose a member of the family. They have a way of schmoozing their way into our hearts. Hold onto the memories.

So sorry to . . .

So sorry to hear of your loss . . . I can't imagine . . .

I have tried to prepare mentally how to handle that day with our little "LUCY" . . .

She is a 12 year old Shih Tzu.

We are going to a Mardi "PAWS" parade next weekend with her . . .

Working on her float the last couple weekends . . .

Steve

Sorry to read about your loss, I don't know what I'll do when my other wife passes, she's only 9 but doesn't get near enough exercise since I've gotten crippled up. Try and imagine a medium size German Shepherd laying her head in your lap driving a ford ranger pick up. LOL.

It has been rough the past couple of days, but your comments here sure have helped. Thank you so much!

THANKS Chip! much appreciated!

Sorry to hear about the Pup! I know all to well what you mean. My shop buddy has multiple cancers and we were told he would be gone by last December. He is still with us; but, that day is unfortunately coming.

Take care, you know he is better off now.
