Just wondering if anyone has any ideas on this machine...? He's asking $650 Canadian

This is a lightly used (1 year old) Micro-Mark microlux milling machine.

MicroLux Milling Machine Specifications
Table size: 16 inches wide x 3-3/4 inches deep
Table travel (X direction): 8 inches
Cross slide travel (Y direction): 4 inches
Headstock travel (Z direction): 7 inches
Clearance (spindle to table-top): 11 inches
Center of spindle to face of column: 6 inches
Spindle speed: variable between 0 and 2,500 rpm
Spindle taper: MT-3
Column angle: tilts from -45 degrees to +45 degrees
Motor: 350 watt (0.47 hp) DC, operates from standard 110v AC outlet
Overall size: 30 inches high x 20 inches deep x 20 inches wide
Weight: 110 pounds (basic machine without accessories).
Gears: all steel, no plastic.
This machine has been converted to belt drive using a commercial Stirling Steele kit. This increases the spindle max speed to a range of 0rpm to 4300rpm.
Machine comes with six of the most common MT3 collet sizes, a standard sized end-mill holder, drill chuck and arbor, and a conversion kit to switch the mill over to air cylinder counter-weight just in case you want to do the conversion. This includes a longer headstock rack.
It also includes all the original parts to convert it back to a gear-head if you so desire. Conversion takes about 30 minutes to do.

Sounds like a reasonable price...not a steal, but a pretty good deal.
I bet you would be happy with it for quite some time.
It is not very big or powerful, but if you are doing light duty
with it, you will find tons of uses for this.
You can actually do some milling on your lathe, but not all what this guy will do.
I'm a lot more of a mill guy than lathe anyway, so I would probably buy it if I were you!
Be sure and coax any tooling out of the owner if possible, it gets expensive.

Yes, the belt drive, collets and end mill holders, etc., would add up to a few hundred
bucks, so that does sweeten the deal.
And,you will want the 4300 RPM if you decide to use something like a .5mm cutter!
not real sure how much the air cylinder counterweight would be worth, or for that matter, really do for you.

Mike, If you can afford it, i know you have been wanting a mill..you probably won't stumble across a better deal!

I agree with jonnycnc here. I am assuming this is similar to the HF little mill, or just a tad bigger. I am not a fan of mt collets, but they are very usable, and like said, this machine will do a lot. From what I hear, the belt drive is one of the best conversions for these little boogers.
