I'm her dearest beloved? Sheesh!

Dearest Beloved,

My dear I know this mail will come to you as a suprise since we haven't discusse it before, but kindly bear with me at this moment. I have a special reason why I decided to contact you. My situation at hand is miserable but I trust in God and hope you will be of my help. My name is Sana Ibrahim Bare Mainassara 25years old girl and I held from Republic of Niger the daughter of Late General Ibrahim Baré Maïnassara the former President of the Republic of Niger who was ambushed and killed by dissident soldiers at the military airport in the capital, Niamey with his driver and a former Prefect. You can see more detail about my late father here http://news.bbc.co.uk/onthisday/hi/dates/stories/april/9/newsid_2463000/2463927.stm

I am constrained to contact you because of the maltreatment which I am receiving from my step mother. She planned to take away all my late father's treasury and properties from me since the unexpected death of my beloved Father. Meanwhile I wanted to travel to Europe, but she hide away my international passport and other valuable documents. Luckily she did not discover where I kept my father's File which contained important documents. I am presently staying in the Mission camp in Burkina Faso.

I am seeking for longterm relationship and investment assistance. My father of blessed memory deposited the sum of US$5.5 Million in one bank in Burkina Faso with my name as the next of kin. I had contacted the Bank to clear the deposit but the Branch Manager told me that being a refugee, my status according to the local law does not authorize me to carry out the operation. However, he advised me to provide a trustee who will stand on my behalf. I had wanted to inform my stepmother about this deposit but I am affraid that she will not offer me anything after the release of the money. Therefore, I decide to seek for your help in transferring the money into your bank account while I will relocate to your country and settle down with you. I have my fathers death certificate and the account number which I will give you as soon as you indicated your interest to help me.

It is my intention to compensate you with 10% of the total money for your assitance and the balance shall be my investment in any profitable venture which you will recommend to me as have no any idea about foreign investment. Please all communications should be through this email address only for confidential purposes.

Thanking you alot in anticipation of your quick response. I will send you my photos in my next email.

Yours Sincerely
Sana Ibrahim

These "Nigerian scams" continue to proliferate, which leads me to believe that people are somehow still falling for them. Apparently, some folks still think it completely plausible that someone they've never heard of might contact them out of the blue and offer to send them millions of dollars, sight unseen. Greed must block out that region of the brain that would normally prevent the typical person from sending all their bank account information to a complete stranger.

oh no i cant believe it she is two timing me. and its one of my friends here on iap, now i am gutted. oh what shall i do. seriously though, people still think its genuine and part with money, and if they do well,,,,,,

I always respond to these scams. I am usually "Edna Mae MacGuillicutty" (anyone a TV trivia buff?) Edna Mae has lived all over the country, from CA to MA and once at "1600 N. Pennsylvania Ave" I sometimes give them the name and address of the Director of the FBI and once the CIA human resources dept.

Hah! You're talking to an old guy here. Of course I know who Edna Mae MacHuillicutty is! How about this one ....... what was the name of Sky King's plane? Too easy, huh?

Wasn't she a maid on one of those old black and white TV shows?

I'm not very old so I don't remember much back before Everybody Loves Raymond.

Songbird! I also remember his nephew Clipper and his niece Penny. I had a bit of a VERY young boy crush on her.:bashful:

They must think we're incredibly stupid. Anyone that claims to have such intimate knowledge of me and has my place staked out and is ready to go in for the kill but can't compose an e-mail with proper English grammer can't truly expect me to take them seriously. How does anyone actually fall for this crap?

I get these kind of letters all the time. One ,way back ,I responded and asked them to contact me for better instructions and gave my PH #. They called (long distance) and I talked for 1/2 hour asking dumb questions for info how to apply. Then I hung up

The scams are getting more convincing though. My wife actually received a cashiers check the other day for $3,900. So far we think it is a fake. The check is real but will be on an account that does not exist or has no money. The bank would then come back after us for the money. The check came with a letter that said we had won 39,000 dollars in a lottery the advance was for us to be able to pay the taxes on our winnings and to contact blah blah blah with our info so we can get the rest. Don't cash these checks they will get there money back.

As of yesterday morning I have passed Bill Gates as the richest person in the world. As soon and all the money that has been left to me and my winnings from the all the lotteries get into my account I am going to by me that Jet VSP lathe down at Woodcraft. The money should get here any day look out Bill, I might buy Yahoo.

Who knows Jared, maybe you have a secret admirer, and a soon to be rich one at that. I bet you can't wait for the wedding.

Rincewind, I wouldn't trust a hit man that is double crossing an employer, but I would contact the authorities on that one. It sounds like a threat has actually been made and if they are in this country they have really screwed up.

Daniel, send me the check with a $5000 cash deposit and I will cash it for you. Any bank can tell you if it is an actual check or if it is a fake. If you want to waste your time with it.

It is amazing how many lotteries I have won that I have never entered or even heard of, but sooner or later they are going to slip up and send me the actual cash and ask for a check in return, that's the one I am waiting for (and I am holding my breathe while waiting). the sad part is that some people actually fall for crap like this.

By the way, Tom congratulations on your good fortune.

I won $20 on a scratch off lottery ticket this morning. It is probably going to be the only thing colleted that is listed here.

Daniel have you ever heard of a lady named Mrs.Mary Winkler She gained some notoriety after killing her husband a " degenerate wife beating minister" Her problems started when she cashed one of those checks and he beat the crap out of her (allegedly) apparently she wore sun glasses to church most of the time any way
You are right though, the last check she cashed was a certified check, she spent the money, their account took a hit, the preacher smacked her around,(allegedly) she uncorked a 12 ga. in his back while he was asleep, told him she loved him. and took off with her two daughters, wound up serving a total of six months in jail, and got her kids back last week.

Actually, Bill Gates is third..

From out of the clear blue of the western sky...comes....Sky King in either songbird I or songbird II, both of which I've seen in person. Under the clear blue western sky was Flying Crown Ranch.
Do a good turn daily!
