Tom (smoky10) had given me a loofah a while back to try casting. This is the result. I colored the resin blue and didn't color the tube just to see how it would turn out. Guess I will have to play around a little more. I have some that is dyed red but haven't had the chance to cast it yet. The loofah is a little "sparse" on this one. I think it would be better if I could find one a little more dense.

I like it. Even though the loofah is "sparse", I think it works to create a sort of marbling effect. I also like the gradations in the color.

the pen looks very nice ...

I found some really thick-walled loofas the other day at Big Lots .. I cannot wait to get them cast in polyresin ... not sure what color-combo yet, but should be interesting ... and they were only $1 per section ... I plan on growing loofas this year, but it will be a year from now, before I will have useable sponge-sections ... bummer ... one buck is cheap ...
