logging into forums

I just bought a new laptop ( old one crashed) I now have windows 7 and would like to know why, and if there is a fix, that I have to log into each forum every time even when I click on remember me. Didn't have that problem with vista on my old pc.

I'm afraid I'm not much help. I run W7 and don't have a problem staying logged on. Do you clear cookies when you logoff the system? Cookies has caused me any number of problems over the years. I'm sure some of resident geeks will provide more useful info.

my bet is cookies get deleted, or never saved in first place
i have same setup as you, plus plenty of experience running forums+games and seeing people comment such

I'm not going to be any help either, but even though I've clicked the remember me button, I still have to log on to every forum... I just automatically do it and don't think or worry about it. It only adds about 2 seconds to the log on.

If my memory is right you have your cookies blocked. Are you using Firefox or IE. If IE download Firefox. IE has ALWAYS been a PIA and Firefox is a much more friendly environment.

I can't remember how to unblock cookies in both of them though. I am sure a google search will help.

thanks for the help, but I got it working . went to tools, options,privacy, and made sure history is saved. seems to be working now.

It sounds like you are deleting your cookies or have the setting set to auto delete cookies when the browser is closed. You can select the option in your IE Properties to preserve your Favs cookies if you have the forms on your Favorites.
