Long shot... but I am putting out a feeler to see about locally trading (or perhaps selling if this doesn't work) my Byrnes table saw and thickness sander. I am trying to add a mill to my shop and need the space. Unfortunately, I rarely use the saw anymore. I would be open to trades for a benchtop milling machine. I thought I would try on IAP first. I would like to get these tools into a penmaker's hands if possible.

I am not willing to ship, so it would need to be a local transaction. I do travel for work quite a bit in the Northeast (NY, DC, VA, PA, CT) and can potentially work something out.

All the accessories I have are listed in the invoice. I also have a few more items I ordered separately, such as the micrometer adjuster, extra zero clearance inserts, and more belts for the sander. I also have a bushing that Jim made for me that fits a 4 3/8 Diablo blade to fit the saw, which allows me to cut 1-inch stock with the saw.

Because these products are no longer made and are in extremely high demand, and because it is very lightly used, I would put trade value at the invoice price, or about $1400 if someone happens to have a mill in excellent condition (not the Central Machinery brand) that they don't want. I can sell for a lot more on eBay, but I'm hoping to keep these tools within the IAP community.

I couldn't live without my tablesaw especially in making pens. Do you have a substitute way of cutting blanks? My tablesaw takes up a much larger chuck of real estate than your saw since I have a large floor model Jet, but still would have to replace it with something else if I decided to replace it.......just curious.....

I have a table saw. The Byrnes saw is a specialized mini saw that is used primarily by model ship builders. It is excellent, along with the thickness sander, as tools for precise segmenting work in pen making. But, it is a very unique and specialized saw.

Jim Byrnes passed away a few years ago and these are no longer made. They are in high demand by model builders and sell for ridiculously high prices.
