So I'm sitting at my computer doing some work and I notice this guy red.jpg chirping like crazy. I get up and out of corner of my eye I notice movement and look over to see.. hawk1.jpg:eek:

It seems to me, that smaller birds don't seem to be in that much danger from larger birds. The smaller ones harass the larger ones endlessly.

So sparrows harrass the jays, the jays and mocking birds harass the crows, the crows harass the owls and hawks...

Am I right?

Rob,

Those birds should be very very afraid of the Hawk, made to kill for a living.

Jim in your ideal world keep your eye out for the Hawks.

Kind regards to you both Peter.

Jim,

Having seen hawks take song birds in mid-flight would suggest that the little birds do have something to fear from any/all predatory birds. The reason they gang up on larger birds like crows and in some cases hawks is to drive them away from there immediate area so they don't get eaten.
