Hello all, just finished rebuilding my shopsmith. Picked it up for $200 and stripped it and replaced bearings and other parts. Cost was about $125 for parts and repainted my own colors since I couldn't locate the original green and grey. Blasted all the parts and repainted. What do you guys think,

Did you blast with sand, glass or soda?

Is that a Kiln I see?

I blasted with crushed glass from northern tool. And yes it is a kiln, but the guy I bought it from owns it.

Shopsmith should have used those colors to begin with. Looks like a sleek racing machine!!!!!
I started with one of them but had to sell it to make room for additional machines.
Enjoy your "new" machine - now get it dirty.

I have had mine for 24 years. Never had to replace anything (yet, knock on wood). My summer plans include a major overhaul, so I may be contacting you. Have fun. Oh yeah... It looks great.
