Liberty Kit

I just made a Liberty kit. I intended to make it a pen for myself. However, when I assembled it the refill will not extend out of the nib. It works fine with the pencil refill. At first I thought I put the spring in backwards but that was not the case. Any ideas?

If it works fine with the Pencil then it is a pencil Kit. The pen and pencil looks identical it is only the assembled mechanism that is different. What did the package state on the outside or did you mixed two kits?

I have come up with a way to have everything the same so the same pen kit can also be used with a pencil mechanism.

Thanks, I am sure that I mixed the kits up. I did not realize that there was a difference. I thought that maybe the tubes were different lengths.
