How did it turn?? reason I ask if i've got some unknown Indian ( I think ) hardwood that I'm trying to identify and it .ooks similar.

Because you have three pictures showing different sides of your pen then what you have shown is good on the eye.
If you just showed one picture then another prop would not distract. My opinion and I hope that it makes sense.
