Finally got a good result on a leather pen. After about four failures. Essentially, I have wrapped the brass tube in thin leather, after stamping the Celtic knot design into it. The leather is dampened, then molded around the tube and allowed to dry. The I have glued it onto the tube, and hand stitched the seam. The biggest problem was figuring out the correct size of the piece of leather so the edges would come together without a gap. This can be challenging when you wet the leather, stamp it, and punch stitch holes in it. Looks okay, though, but the dye was a light tan, not sure why it looks kinda orange. I did trace around the knot design with a black pen si it would stand out more.

Pretty cool! I actually like the orange color. The stamped image is nice and you did very well on the stitching keeping it all aligned. Thanks for sharing!

Very nice! I'd actually like to see more of the stitching vs hiding it under the clip. JUst me, but that is an attractive element. The Celtic Knot is very nice. I'm a fan! 👏 👏 👏 . Thanks for sharing.

I too, like it - the design, color and the tracing around the knot. That makes it stand out. Excellent. I don't think I have seen that particular method with leather before! Very original!
