At a facility in Wichita Falls, TX, the story goes that a man driving by lost a wheel off his car. He stopped on the side of the road beside one of the patients looking through the fence. The wheel fell off because the lug nuts weren't tight enough. They worked loose and finally so did the wheel. The driver was scratching his head trying to figure out what to do when the patient said "If it was me, I'd take one lug nut off each of the other wheels and use them to attach the 4th wheel and you can slowly make it to somewhere to get more lug nuts."
The driver thought that was a great idea so he took one lug nut off each wheel and attached the 4th wheel. After he tightened the nuts, he walked over to the patient to thank him. The driver said "Wow that was a great idea. Thank you. With ideas like that, I can't believe you're in here."
The patient replied, "I may be crazy but I'm not stupid."
Told to me by a witness ... or was he the patient?
