They are the same...just naming convention chosen by companies.
Thanks Dario, I thought that was right, but, I have never turned anything on a mini or a midi so I just wasn't sure. Tim

The Mini was a Jet version and it has/had a 10" swing while the Delta Midi was supposed to be the Mid size lathe and it has a 12" capacity. (according to specs) Jet has now come out with a 12" capacity mini, so the whole mini/midi thing is more of just the letter difference. (Jet is still selling the 10" version which can be had for less than $200 new)

Mike, that is what I turn my pens on. It is called a "PEN LATHE". And you are right, it is TINY. Tim

I purchased to take with me when I go fishing and camping, and when my wife has to go to girls camp with the teens and I have to chaperone so I get to play. It is a pretty good little unit.[:D]

I turned pens on the "pen lathe" for a year until I got my 1014VSI. It was a nice little tool for the money. I actually got it for half price when Woodcraft closed it out. I was quite amazed how accurate it was for such an inexpensive tool. But I learned just how under powered it really is when I got the mini.
