I was able to score this awesome 6 foot lathe/duplicator this past spring from an estate auction. I got lots of great equipment, well maintained, but the auction folks didn't know what the small parts were and the tool rest was separated from the lathe, never to be found.

As such, the issue is the tool rest is 1 1/4" diameter. I have inserted a brass bushing with a slot cut to allow the screw to reach the rest, but I would prefer to have the correct tool rest.

Anyone know where a tool rest can be obtained for this? I have searched the internet and can only find 1" diameter. I am located in the US.

Details are it is a Mini Max T124.

Still learning how to use it, but it works well. I reassembled it and tested.

SCM still make and sell the lathe, almost $7,000, and parts are available but I would bet the tool rest would not be cheap. Other than the size of the post it doesn't look to be anything special. Robust make tool rests much like it and will make it with a 25mm or 30mm post for a bit more.

If that turns out to be not what you want then Rick, as others suggested, may be able to help even if only to make an adaptor sleeve for a 1" post.
