Well we had a good turnout today. A few people couldn't make it due to shows and a hurt back. But all in all it was a good meeting. A few new turners showed up to see what penturning is all about. I truly think their brains are on overload after all the info they gained today.

Chasper did some very good demos that were very helpful to everyone. He did a refresher demo on dying pen blanks with food coloring. He also showed us how he prepares and turns Deer Antler. This was very helpful to the guys that have never messed with antler.

Chasper also brought some very nice pens to show everyone. He does some amazing work. Todd brought some extremely curly maple and I brought some spalted pecan, box elder, and walnut to give away. Tom made some of his world famous chili for lunch. I think everbody had 2 or 3 bowls. I'll get the pics up shortly.

Thanks again to Tom for having the meeting at his place, and Chasper for doing the demo's. Hopefully everyone enjoyed their self. We're going to plan on having the next meeting some time in late June or early July at Chasper's house. We need to do some planning but should have the date soon.

The pens are all of Gerry's. The emperor is Hoduran Rosewood Eye Burl. Wish the pic wasn't blurry.

Ernie,
You photoshopped one of those photos didn't you? My hair isn't that thin, and I think you may have made me a little extra girthy too.

It was a good time thanks Ernie, Todd and especially Tom for the good food and great place to meet.
