Latest Bottle Stoppers

I've made a few bottle stoppers lately. Here are some of them. I'm hoping that someone might be able to identify the wood in the first picture. The unturned blank looked a little like mahogany but I'm not sure.

Comments/complaints/suggestions are all welcome.

Based on the color and the pitted grain, I'd say that looks a whole lot like Walnut. They all look good. What finish did you use?

Nice job. My first impression on the first stopper was walnut.
However, there are numerous other woods which it could also be.
Hard to say just from a photo although it's a reasonable guess.

Is the third one bocote or something else?

In this post, Walnut pepper mill, there's a rather good size photo of a black walnut mill. You can really see the grain, figure and coloration in the photo. It may help you ID your bottle stopper with certainty.

Thanks all. There is lacewood, zebrawood, curly maple, tulipwood, and what is supposed to be African Mahogany. I'm really happy with how they turned out. The finish is 2 coats of friction polish.

Looks like Tulipwood to me, but I have the same question.

Also looks like some myrtle that I have, similar in color to black walnut, maybe not as dark.

Do they look better in person than in the photographs? I'm thinking the focus is off, they look nice just wondering if a nicer camera would help. It looks like the photos are not doing 110% justice to your hard work.

I love doing bottle stoppers but I'm doing all I can to keep up with my seam ripper and some pen orders. Can I ask what you will be listing them at to sell?

Walnut is my guess.
