We decided we needed several Christmas gifts and decided on stirring spatulas. Luckily, I had a handful of these in various stages of completion from my last (pre-Covid) club demo and a hands on workshop. This sped up the process so I could get these done, sanded and oiled just before delivering to several turning buddies along with some homemade cookies thanks to my wonderful Wifey!

Front to Rear: Yellow Heart, Koa, Canary Wood, and some Mystery Wood.

Lovely work !!

Wish I had something to stir !! . LOL !

What oil do you use on those spatulas ?

And how do you securely join the handle to the "blade" ?

Mal,
Thanks!
These are one piece... not joined. I saw off the waste prior to turning. The "waste" becomes pen blanks, stilettos, small handles, etc.
After turning, bandsawing the blade, and sanding, I wet them to raise the grain, resand and then oil. I use mineral oil for first coat and then a mineral oil/beeswax blend for final coat.
