Was bored so turned this today also. Dont remember exacly what type of wood. Honey curly something. Plus its a tad to late to go look for what it is.

Does it put out a pretty good spot of light??

How many batteries does it use??

Yep it does. 3 silly little batteries like most laser pointers use

The one I have uses 2 AAA batteries and will project a very visible dot at least 200' on a reasonably reflective surface. The label says it has <5 mW of power. Any idea of the power rating on that keychain unit??

ok uses LR44 batteries. 3 of them. They are little button batteries. Nope no clue. Seems pretty good power to me. I will take it to work to see how far I can get it to go. Got a 1/4 mile hallway there
