Woodturning Design and PenWorld teamed up with IAP in hopes of creating a contest for penturners. The co-founder of IAP, Scott, took on the challenge of organizing the event as well as coordinating all the shipping of pens to the judges, etc.
In the end, Eric Beuker (Buzzzz4) was runner-up to a pen made by the Gisis. Eric has volunteered this pen and the accompanying provenance to help celebrate the tenth anniversary.
Since this is one of the most important pieces of IAP history, we have kept it until the finale!! It is a beautiful work of art, made from the cherry pit blanks that Eric hand-casts. Many of you have used Eric's blanks and know what a spectacular pen they can produce.
Bid often and bid high for this "once in IAP's first decade" pen and magazine presentations.
