My labels peel away a bit when casting. Using Alumilite Clear Cast. Cleaning brass, not touching label with fingers. What are the ways to prevent this? Thanks.

Make the label just a little bit longer and burnish it down with the side of the marker you use to cover the white on the end of the label. I do this now and rarely have label lift. Like Mark said use a good label as well. Good luck

Use good quality label paper. I use Online Labels Weatherproof Matte Labels for Inkjet, Stock # OL177WJ. Make sure you have approximately a 1/16" overlap at the seam. Cast the blanks ASAP after adhering the labels to the tubes.
Thanks for the tip. I am trying a few things. Vertical dip in thin ca and elmers clear glue. Hope to cure the issue.

Alumilite Clear slow a a urathane resin. It doesn't play well with CA. Stick with the Elmers. Just in case IMHO CA out gasses. I let it cure for 3 days before casting in a Polyester Resin.

Had a thought today and did some research, now I know why 7mm tubes suck for label casting...... Yes, tube size directly affects label peel when casting pen blanks, primarily because it determines the necessary label size, the tightness of the overlap, and the surface tension during resin curing. Smaller tubes (like 7mm) have higher curvature, making it harder for stickers to adhere, while larger tubes (like Sierra or Cigar) allow for easier application, though all sizes require careful preparation to prevent peeling. Curvature & Adhesion: Smaller tubes (e.g., 7mm) increase the tension on the label material, making it more prone to lifting at the seam. Guess its back to water slide decals for 7mm.
