First one from a recent box of large shells.I can only imagine the impact fore and aft from one of these loaded cartridges. Made a beaut balanced fountain pen from bits and pieces .

Love it! And yes, I bet that would come back hard! The .458 Winchester is the biggest I've fired--shot the three rounds that we in it (Model 70), and that was quite enough of that.

Regards,
Michael

Magnificent Pen Peter,
Glorious Finish on the Shell Casing,
Magnificent Clear Acrylic, Workings and Cap,
Beautiful Section and Clip,
Love the Internally Extended Finial, Very Clever.
Superb Craftsmanship.
Congratulations,
Brian.

Such cartridges were used in Africa for the real big game- elephants, lions, rhinos, etc. Now there are even bigger cartridges- if you can afford the firearms and can handle the recoil.

Is the nib, feed and cap a repurposed commercial pen? I've been contemplating going that route for a change form kits and not going completely kitless.

Reading the posts....forgot.........that is very creative! Thanks for sharing. I'm impressed with the creativity of the pen makers on this forum.

Yes I will send you a PM.

Peter.

I'm interested as well. Please share.

Sorry Patrick no big deal in essence the pen is made from parts much the same as any other pen, I have lost track of the sources. At nigh on 83 yrs this is perhaps a one off using my imagination and a rare new cartridge, not a step by step how to.

Peter.
