Kitless experimental pen

G'day!
So I have been bitten with the kitless bug, and recently bought some Brook's blanks. They are magnificent. I had issues with my die and ruined 2 tenons on the barrel, which left it quite short. Too good to waste, I added black ebonite to the ends and used aluminium can spacers. Once completed, I ended up changing the section to a black ebonite one, which I think works OK.

There are times when the mistake and resulting fix becomes much better than the planned original. I know your original would have been beautiful, but this is just magnificent! It looks totally PLANNED! The black emphasizes the body color wonderfully!

Very nice! I love it just as is. There are a lot of kitless pens that are all swirls. The black and aluminum make yours unique.

That's the fun part about not using a kit. When things don't go as planned you can change the plan.
