Kintsugi inspired kitless with dyed burl

Hello all,

I really enjoy making wood pens, but don't get to too often. This one was a great challenge and a lot of fun to make.

Burlwood (if you know what kind, help me out!) paired with DiamondCast Midnight Blue, hand-engraved and filled in with faux gold powder, CA finish on top. Completely sleeved on the inside, even if ink were to leak there is no access to the wood. Paired with a gold-plated JoWo #6.

looks great from here. Nice work. The wood looks like boxelder burl or possibly maple burl. Possibly dyed and stabilized? Thanks for sharing.

I'm leaning towards maple for now. It was indeed dyed and stabilized!

Fact is that boxelder is actually a maple known as ash leaved maple or Manitoba maple.
