Not all wood has to be full of drama to be beautiful. Elm finishes so smoothly and is a great turn.I like the look and feel of Elm. My first daily driver was a slim line made with Elm that I father helped cut. I really miss that pen.
Yes, our domestic wood options are fairly limited and not nearly as dramatic..but looking closely at them they still have positive attributes.I will favor many of the 'common domestic timbers.' As a lover of wood in general, a lot of the common woods are great. However... I wish I lived in SW Australia and could claim their 'common' domestic timbers.![]()
